Helping Black women pursue positive pregnancy, empowered birthing, and healing postpartum experiences because…

Although we know there is much to fear, we don't need to be afraid.

What do we have to fear?

When compared to our Caucasian counterparts in The United States, we are …

0 x

3x-4x more likely to die from pregnancy related complications

0 :100,000

at increased risked of maternal mortality (2011-2014 ratio via CDC); Compare to 12.4:100,000 for White women during the same period

0 x

as likely to experience infant mortality or death of our children in the first year of life

The numbers are concerning but we don’t need to be afraid. We can choose to be informed and proactive.

We create resources to help you address your fears, respect your body, and prepare to advocate for yourself, family, and fellow community members intentionally and strategically.

After a positive pregnancy and birth experience, I created a website to support women with general information about pregnancy, motherhood, and wellness.  Everything was going well until I experienced another pregnancy that ended in a difficult loss. I felt alone in my experience but after doing some research, it was apparent that I wasn’t alone and that there are a disproportionate number of Indigenous women and Black women experiencing pregnancy related complications and loss. The research was there but the solutions weren’t. So. I created this website to educate women navigating pregnancy and childbirth in the face of frightening statistical data that isn’t in our favor. I believe there is much to fear but being unafraid to learn, advocate, and be in community with each other is invaluable to our collective experiences. We can be pregnant and unafraid.
